My research paper is on the use of nuclear weapons. My focus question is "are nuclear weapons good or bad for the world?" I take the stance on nuclear weapons having a positive impact. I used three professional writers who took the stance FOR the use of nuclear weapons. I am using the fact that nuclear weapons are being used to avert wars, intimidate other countries, and by having the public feel a sense of security. I used examples from the Cold War and the part that nuclear weapons played in with that. I use statements from Winston Churchill that stated that do not let go of nuclear weapons until you are sure that there are other means for peace. And i state that weapons of mass destruction is a destiny and that if nuclear weapons were never invented then something very similar would have been invented.

Oelrich, Ivan . “What are Nuclear Weapons For?” Aps.org. Forum on Physics
and Society, October. 2007. Web. 30 November 2011

I found this source by going to Google.com and typed in "Positives for nuclear weapons." I clicked on a link and read the article written by Ivan Oelrich.

Annotation: Oelrich's article is an article that explains the postives rather than the negative aspects to nuclear weapons. He uses the idea of nuclear weapons being used as a deterrent but he also contradicts that idea at some points later in the article. But in reality, his tone used in his article suggests that he believes that nuclear weapons are a positive thing.

Every young boy wants to become a sports hero. As for Coop and Remer they wanted to be the most epic sports stars ever but there was one problem, they are the laziest drunks mankind has ever seen. They have grown up to live in a house with twelve other "dudes" and just sit around and play nintendo. They soon come to epiphany with a brand new sport that uses their laziness to their advantages, and that sport with be called BASEketball. It is a bimbo sport with rules from both basketball and baseball. They create this sport just for their amusement and but what they do not realize is that this "backyard" sport will turn into a national phenomenon and create a national craze as well

It's okay to say things the instructor might disagree with

I completly agree with this statement because it can add color to the essay. If you just write an essay that you know that the instructor will agree with then he/she will most likely just look at it as if it was an "average" paper and then give you an "average" grade. But if you give him a paper that makes the instructor think and makes him think ideas that contradict his own ideas. It would most likely really work out for you and get an above average grade but if you can really make the professor mad then it could back fire on you and then you get a bad grade.

You need to follow a formal structure

I do not agree with this statement due to the fact that not all essays have exactly a formal structure. There are essays that do need the typical four/five paragraph essay but what if you are writing a narrative essay that brings across the same point? You can't just put that into four paragraphs and have the flow be very well. It needs to be broken into different paragraphs because that is what fits. And sometimes the formal structure can be quite boring and if you use a non formal structure then that can possibly get you a better than average grade just because it is different.
